Happy Hour: Every Day

What Makes a Great Happy Hour?

People often ask me where my favorite happy hour spot is, but there’s no single answer. It depends on what I want that day: sometimes it’s about getting good food and drinks at a great price, other times I’m after a certain atmosphere, and the deals are just a nice bonus. Still, over time, I’ve identified a few key features that make any happy hour stand out.

First, consider the timing. If the place opens with a happy hour, expect service to start slowly as bartenders prep the bar. You might have the bar to yourself, but the trade-off is that it may take a bit longer to get your order. On the other hand, if happy hour starts mid-shift, the bar should be fully ready, but possibly crowded, making it hard to find a seat.

Next, note where the happy hour specials apply. Are they available only at the bar, or throughout the restaurant? This can influence where you choose to sit. I also look for variety in the food selection. Some places only offer a few appetizers, while others have a wide range of menu items.

Cocktails are another important factor: Are there specialty cocktails at a discount, or just well drinks? Premium brands on happy hour menus show that the place is serious about quality. I like to check the regular menu, too, so I know I’m truly getting a deal.

Finally, I’ve learned to verify the bill to ensure I was charged happy hour prices rather than regular prices. Simple mistakes happen, and it never hurts to double-check.

Ultimately, there’s no single happy hour I prefer above all others. The best happy hour is one that ticks all these boxes and matches what you’re craving that day. Enjoy!

William B’s Steakhouse exudes an upscale ambiance, positioning itself as the premier dining establishment within the Suncoast Casino. The sophisticated decor, intimate lighting, and attentive service create a refined atmosphere perfect for both casual and special occasions.

Menu Highlights: The happy hour menu at William B’s offers a fine dining experience at an accessible price point. The standout item is the Seafood Tower, a generous and impressive offering priced at just $40. Though it was too much for one person, it’s perfect for sharing with a group. For my visit, I opted for the pork bellies and the tuna tartare.

  • Pork Bellies: These were cooked to perfection, with a rich flavor and delightful texture.
  • Tuna Tartare: While the tuna itself was excellent, the dish is served over a bed of mango, which may not be to everyone’s taste. Personally, I’m not a fan of mango, but for those who are, it’s a fresh and flavorful complement to the tartare.

Cocktails: Brett, the bartender, crafts each cocktail with precision and care. The drinks are well-balanced and served with a friendly demeanor, adding to the overall enjoyable experience at the bar. Whether you prefer a classic cocktail or something more adventurous, Brett’s expertise ensures you’ll find a drink to savor.

Ownership and History: William B’s is operated by the same owners who previously ran a fine steakhouse on the top floor of Suncoast. Their decision to move to the casino floor level and open William B’s has brought their exceptional dining experience to a more accessible location within the casino, making it easier for guests to enjoy their top-tier offerings.

Location: Situated off the Strip in the Tivoli Village area and next to the JW Marriott, Suncoast Casino may be somewhat underappreciated, but it offers a variety of dining experiences. William B’s Steakhouse stands out as the best restaurant within the casino, making it a hidden gem for those in the know.

Future Reviews: We plan to review the happy hour at the 90-90 restaurant, located just next door to William B’s, in the near future. Stay tuned for more insights into the dining options at Suncoast Casino.

Overall Experience: Happy hour at William B’s Steakhouse is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy fine dining in an elegant setting. With excellent menu options like the Seafood Tower, pork bellies, and tuna tartare, paired with expertly crafted cocktails, it offers a superior experience. The upscale ambiance and attentive service make it a standout choice for happy hour in the Tivoli Village area. Despite being off the Strip, William B’s at Suncoast Casino is worth the visit, providing a sophisticated yet approachable dining experience that shouldn’t be missed.
